“A Treasury of Lingua Franca” presents itself as an experimental approach to alternate ways of reading the elements of language around us. Through its multitude of uses, language practices are something that is highly familiar, yet somewhat disregarded. Thus, this project seeks to manifest such intangible forms through the use of various artistic and visual communication methods. The nature of this project borrows from the concept of Lingua Franca. This term refers to bridge, trade or auxiliary languages, and are the systems that enable communication between different groups of people. The publication disseminates material produced from both contextual and speculative perspectives, offering backstage information about the subject. Whilst the objects stand as an inquisitive approach to portraying said theories. The content presented is a compiled documentation of selected practices that have been approached in a study format. Such are the results of investigating their varied characteristics and nuances, uncovering how each aspect contributes to our communication.
