Embedded within the ERP System lies the Manufacturing Planning Control (MPC) system that is not usually available as a standalone system. MPC is a system which helps companies with planning and managing materials/components, people as wells as equipment in response to customer needs and demands. ERP systems are very expensive and, hence many SMEs (Small to Medium Enterprises) and even students looking to learn are not able to purchase them and take advantage of the embedded MPC system. Even though there are standalone Excel based solutions available, they lack the integrating capabilities and seamlessness of the embedded MPC systems. Thus the proposed solution in this report is a Python based MPC System, that Integrates Demand Forecasting & Management, Master Production Scheduling, and Materials Resource Planning into an effective standalone System. The System is developed around a real company (Zurn Wilkins) and its products as well as tested with raw data available on their website.
