So what this project is really about is what can be presumed from the results of the pile load tests. Using the results from pile load tests, it is possible to see how the load is being distributed along the pile when a load is being applied to it. In theory, piles are assumed to be of the shape as they are being designed, however, in reality, it is not possible to manufacture every single pile to perfection. The geometries of the piles may be altered due to external factors as time passes as well. Hence, it would be essential that engineers know how the load distribution of piles will be affected when there are irregularities along the pile. With this knowledge, piles can be designed more effectively to prevent unexpected failure which may result in disastrous consequences.
