Description
Summary:Oil and gas extraction can be volatile at times, representing a high potential accident rate among all other sources of energy. Furthermore, extractions often have to be done in harsh conditions of the open sea where relentless sea waves plummet and corrode the oilrigs’ foundations. Unpredictable seismic activities also makes things complicated for offshore engineers. Therefore, important issues like safety and reliability of such offshore structures during their design stage are of upmost priority in order to provide the safest working environment to ensure minimum risk during extraction.
