The edition by official Lou Shu of Southern Song Dynasty being most comprehensive, led to future adaptations and re-representations. Such works peaked during the Qing Era, encompassing literary images and cultural symbols. From the perspective of Text and Image studies, this paper analyses the intentions, influences and values of Qing Emperors Kangxi, Yongzheng and Qianlong's Imperially Composed Pictures and Poems of Tilling and Weaving. At the same time, intertextuality and intermediality attempts to clarify the relationship between Song Dynasty Official Lou Shu’s documentations and Qing Dynasty’s Imperially Composed Pictures and Poems. Identical compositions deriving from different ideologies, with the same objective, propelled the High Qing Era.
