The shaping of history is thus used as ideology in which the People Action’s Party legitimises its political control and restricts people in viewing history. As a response to government repressive controls on history, Singaporean author Wong Koi Tet constructs a dystopian world in Black Panther intending to challenge the nation’s discourse of history. With the aid of the theory of dystopia, this paper aims to examine how Wong Koi Tet rebels against the nation’s discourse of history and attempts to change people’s perception of history through the construction of dystopian world in Black Panther. |
