Summary: | This project proposed the optimization design of the Cumulative Sum (CUSUM) control chart by finding the minimum value of the loss function L value. It is achieved by optimizing two of the CUSUM parameters: sample size n and reference value k.
Two kinds of CUSUM control charts will be compared: conventional and optimal CUSUM control charts. These comparisons are based on each loss function L value resulted and the performance of each Average Time to Signal (ATS) value at different mean shifts (µ). In order to show these comparisons between these two kinds of CUSUM control charts, there will be two numerical cases representing the applications of these CUSUM control charts.
Two C programs are written: program for the design of the optimal CUSUM control chart and program for the design of the conventional CUSUM control chart.
The results of this project will provide an effective and workable CUSUM control chart in assisting statistical process control. |
