With the involvement of renewable energy generators, like wind turbines, the wind profile can be opposite of the load profile, which makes a great amount of wind energy to be a spill. The energy storage system is introduced to accommodate the wasted energy. But the capacity of the energy storage system is studied by various researchers. So, this thesis is trying to find the best location in the system for deploying the energy storage system. In the thesis, the traditional and future power systems are discussed and compared, and the different types of energy storage systems and some typical structures of the power grid are introduced. A model is proposed, and with the constraints and objective function, through simulation, the best location for the energy storage system is found.
