Summary:SARS-CoV-2, also known as COVID-19, is without a doubt one of the worst Pandemics humans have ever experienced, officially infecting over 600 million people as of September 2022 (WHO, 2022). A common way to combat the virus is by using a simulation model to choose the best mitigation strategy. It is crucial to reflect the population structure and interactions between populations accurately while designing a simulation model for such usage. As a result, the primary objective of this project is to generate and evaluate various contact networks representative of Singapore's population and community structure. The paper concludes that the combination of incorporating age distribution, household contacts in the form of a clique, and non-household contacts generated using the FARZ generator, results in a contact network that best resembles real-world network and population structure of Singapore. The evaluation's resultant contact network is then used to create a simulation model using the SEI3R compartmental model and a Web GUI for convenient use of the simulation model.
