Summary: | On the blockchain, smart contracts are autonomous programs that enables peers to enforce
agreements without the need for a third party. Ethereum based smart contract is the basis of
decentralised finance valuating billions of US dollars. However, they are far from secure and
have led to millions of dollars in losses due to attacks exploiting vulnerabilities. As smart
contracts are immutable upon deployment, the security and correctness of them are of
paramount importance. This project is our attempt to analyse the current state of smart
contract security of Cardano, a growing blockchain technology, in comparison to Ethereum.
The first part of this project involves understanding basic knowledge of abovementioned
blockchains. After that, we explore Ethereum attacks and attempts to weigh the potentiality of
replication on Cardano are made. |
