This report outlines the research done by the author on the compressive strength of fully saturated sandstones. This project took a total of two semesters to complete, from 4th August 2008 to 9th April 2009. In chapter 1, the author introduces the basis of his project and explains the background of the rock core samples used in the experiments. In chapter 2, the author explains and reviews the findings of previous research which are related to his topic. In chapter 3, the author explains how different equipments are used for the procedures necessary to his project. Finally, in chapter 4, the author presents and explains the results obtained, before closing with his conclusion on the compressive strength of the sandstones.
