Summary: | Over the past few years, microgrids have proliferated globally in line with climate change efforts to integrate distributed renewable energy sources. However, most microgrids are unbalanced due to the presence of asymmetric consumer loads. This can lead to power quality issues and increased power losses. At the same time, microgrid operators are also looking to optimize the power generation between multiple sources to meet the current load demand. Hence, a three-phase optimal power flow algorithm has been developed in this paper using the PandaPower module and tested on the Clean Energy Research Lab (CERL) in Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Block S2-B7C-05. This report would present the development of the algorithm based on past literature studies, the overall methodology and the implementation results. |
