Most significantly, it welcomes learners from all levels of study or graduation status to gather in one community and tap on the combined wealth of knowledge of their peers. This cultivates a culture of informal and continuous peer learning, which is especially valuable in today’s rapidly changing world to stay relevant in the field of EEE. This project focuses on introducing the concept of Shared-Interest Groups (SIGs) to Lifelong Learning @ EEE to encourage learning in groups and consequently support the functions of the facility. In the course of the project, the goals of the centre were crystallized and proposed as follows: 1. Provide a space for self-motivated learners, regardless of graduation status, to stay up to date on the latest technology and develop in-demand skills to stay relevant in the EEE industry. 2. Nurture a community of lifelong learners where they can find like-minded people to form their own Shared-Interest Groups (SIGs). Research was done to identify frameworks and best practices for continuous learning in groups, and these were then integrated into the features of the web application such that members of SIGs are encouraged to follow these frameworks for a more constructive and fulfilling peer learning experience.
