In view of the important roles of academic information professionals in serving students and staff in their learning and research needs as well as in conjunction with the nation's life long learning emphasis, this study aims to explore and determine the work-related usage of the Internet among academic information professionals. The preference of information professionals in using online resources on the Internet compared to the traditional printed resources, their skills and frequency of Internet usage, their views of Internet in contributing to information services and the pattern of Internet usage among information professionals from various departments were studied. The subjects of the study were 56 academic information professionals and trainee information professionals from five main academic libraries.
