Drinking poems are a prominent theme in classical Chinese poetry, and their prime dates to the Tang Dynasty. Du Fu carried on the tradition of composing drinking poetry, giving it a strong personal touch and creating new characteristics. Li Bai, who started the thriving period of drinking poetry, produced a huge number of good works.
Li Bai and Du Fu's solo and dual drinking poems will be compared in this article. We'll also look at how the poets dealt with their own melancholy and how writing drinking poems affected their poetic style.
