Under Asian cultural settings, cognitive and behavioral demonstrations of the attachment bond between one and his or her romantic partner might be different from those observed in the Western sample. A pilot study consisting of interviews with mothers and daughters were conducted. Using the results from the pilot study, a Singaporean Concept of Love Scale was created, and administered in Study 1 along several other relevant scales, one of which is the Revised Adult Attachment Scale. Results found interesting differences in adult attachment in Singapore which could be explained by deeper cultural influences.
