The work content of the bidders of survey and design projects has increased the application of BIM technology in each stage of the design and the submission of BIM model results. Some projects have put forward the requirements that the BIM model and the design drawing should be submitted simultaneously and the drawing model should be consistent. By carrying out the pilot application of BIM projects, carrying out BIM scientific research projects, and contracting BIM projects, in-depth research and exploration of the application of BIM technology at the stage of survey and design and on-site construction are carried out. The practice shows that the railway BIM forward design technology route based on Bentley is basically feasible. Bentley Company has released the BIM product ORD (Open Rail Designer) and related secondary development kit for the railway engineering industry based on the MicroStation CE platform. It provides the premise for the development work. Based on ORD software platform, this project aimed to realize the detailed requirements of railway engineering tunnel 3D BIM design work, and developed a software function module of the system for tunnel designers to carry out BIM forward design work.
