For many years, hawker centres have been a vital part of the food industry. As the food industry becomes more globalized, hawkers are forced to revise their conventional ways of managing food services and adapt to the advancement of technology. Working conjointly, Singapore Government Agencies have provided digital support efforts to help hawkers that are less digitally savvy to adapt to technology. However, compared to other digitally savvy food enterprises in the market, the current digital support efforts are insufficient to help hawkers gain a competitive edge. Therefore, this project aims to tap on the diversity and potency of AR technologies to design and develop an AR food application for consumers when ordering from hawker centres. The main objective of this project is to design and develop an interactive AR food application to give an immersive food ordering experience. It will also serve as a platform where consumers can explore recipes for a healthier lifestyle. The key features of this application will include AR Menu to give consumers an immersive food ordering experience through the visualization of menu items and AR Filters which allows consumers to try out different food-related face filters when exploring recipes.
