Summary:The global utilization of functionally graded solids has increased over time. These functionally graded materials (FGM) solids have spatially variable material characteristics. Therefore, FGMs provide engineers with a variety of options and a degree of material selection freedom to meet their objectives. In the realm of heat transfer using functionally graded materials, the importance of analysing such interactions is growing. Problems of heat transmission with functionally graded materials can be studied using sophisticated analysis and simulation techniques. People can get enlightening knowledge and ultimately select and implement a FGM that is optimal for their application. For predictions of heat transfer behaviour and thermally induced stresses in functionally graded materials (FGM), a trustworthy and effective numerical tool is needed to better understand how these materials behave in high temperature environments. In this study, functionally graded materials are formulated in terms of finite volumes. The finite volume method (FVM), which is used to study a functionally graded one-dimensional study on a material, is considered by the theoretical framework. To ensure reliable findings, manual calculations was performed on the material along with MATLAB tests to ensure robust results.
