Summary: | Built-in camera functionality in our mobile devices has encouraged more people to use their mobile phones over conventional cameras to capture images due to convenience and added capabilities. Unlike cameras, mobile phones allow a seamless integration of photo-oriented applications that let the user manipulate their images to tell their story better. Users can adjust the colour balance, brightness, and contrast, and get rid of blemishes or unwanted objects in their images. In addition, users can easily share their edited images with their peers on social media platforms at their fingertips.
MagikPaint is a mobile application designed and developed to run on an Android device for this project. It incorporates state-of-the-art image processing capabilities as well as augmented reality (AR) technology. The application allows users to either take a photo using the camera function or select an existing image from the gallery. Thereafter, the user will be greeted with the image editing screen, where there will be a myriad of activities the user can perform to edit their images. Once the user is satisfied with their edits, they can save the edited image into their gallery and share it on social media platforms if they want. |
