Description
Summary:Locker systems are secure storage containers used for users to store various things. However, locker theft is caused by conventional locking methods that are insecure and are easily hackable. There are biometric methods used to authenticate users but these are not used in locker systems currently. In this project, a locker system using secure authentication methods to unlock will be built. Fingerprint sensor and face recognition are used to authenticate the user’s fingerprint or face respectively. An Arduino UNO board will be used as the mainboard to power the locker system and ESP32-CAM will be used to power the face recognition system. Standard off-the-shelf components will be used for the locker system and fingerprint sensor. Machine learning will be used to create the face recognition system. The prototype will be built in a smaller form made of corrugated cardboard to validate the capabilities of the locker system.
