The new structure for a dc-dc boost converter provides a high voltage gain with a lower duty ratio. The advantages of the new structure are low current and low voltage stress on the switching device as well as reduced component sizes. This boost converter gives a greater output voltage with a lower duty cycle than a conventional dc-dc boost converter. The sliding mode and current-mode controllers are used for the regulation of the converter. Experimental results are provided to show the features of these controllers operating under various operating condition. Mainly, changes in reference voltage and load resistance.
