Summary: | Language acquisition is an important ability to have, but not all resources are available to everyone. Current language learning applications frequently fail to provide a comprehensive approach to language learning, with insufficient focus placed on the culture and history of the language. The languages that are at risk of disappearing, especially in tribal regions of the world, do not have any resources or digital tools that are currently made for them. The project intends to build and develop a language learning app for youngsters from the age of 7 and lower from the Angami tribe that encourages greater knowledge of the language, culture, and history behind it. To make learning more engaging and enjoyable, the app integrates folktales, rhymes, and interactive quizzes. The application was built with Flutter and designed with tools such as Figma and Adobe Illustrator. Back-end queries, database management, and storage are all handled by Firebase and Firestore. It is designed to work with iOS, Android, and mobile browsers. The software, which provides an immersive language learning experience, is projected to be a helpful resource for both language students and educators as well as a stepping stone to creating something even bigger. |
