Description
Summary:As global mental health concerns grow increasingly in recent years, so does the demand for mental healthcare. However, as the workload of mental healthcare professionals rises despite their small population, this results in rising costs of mental healthcare treatment. In the midst of this growing demand, cheaper alternatives such as the peer support of family and friends, and mental health chatbots have emerged from our rapidly advancing technological era. However, as this group of peer supporters are the first line of support for their peers facing mental health challenges, yet they may not be formally trained, this project proposes the development of a mental wellness chatbot app for peer supporters of mental health patients to equip them with the necessary resources and support while managing their personal well-being.
