It has transformed industries, disrupted traditional business models, and created new opportunities for growth and innovation. In particular, digital technology has led to an increased reliance on networking, which plays a critical role in enabling communication and information sharing. Given the growing importance of technology in today’s digital age, it is essential that students are equipped with the necessary technical skills and knowledge in order to stay ahead in the growing and competitive digital industry. This project targets students from Junior Colleges (JC) and Polytechnic students, providing them an opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in the field of Computer Networking through workshops. Implementing networking workshops can help to build students’ interest and confidence in engineering related disciplines. By participating in workshops that are engaging and interactive, students that may not have the exposure to networking or may not have considered pursuing careers in this field can develop a better understanding of the potential applications of networking and the wide range of job opportunities available in this industry. Moreover, students can build connections and expand their professional networks through interacting with industry professionals. The rise of digital technology across the last decade has impacted people
significantly through the way of work, communication and interaction. It has
transformed industries, disrupted traditional business models, and created new
opportunities for growth and innovation. In particular, digital technology has led to
an increased reliance on networking, which plays a critical role in enabling
communication and information sharing. Given the growing importance of
technology in today’s digital age, it is essential that students are equipped with the
necessary technical skills and knowledge in order to stay ahead in the growing and
competitive digital industry.
This project targets students from Junior Colleges (JC) and Polytechnic students,
providing them an opportunity to gain new knowledge and skills in the field of
Computer Networking through workshops.
Implementing networking workshops can help to build students’ interest and
confidence in engineering related disciplines. By participating in workshops that are
engaging and interactive, students that may not have the exposure to networking or
may not have considered pursuing careers in this field can develop a better
understanding of the potential applications of networking and the wide range of job
opportunities available in this industry. Moreover, students can build connections and
expand their professional networks through interacting with industry professionals.
This could also potentially lead to an increase in enrollment rates for relevant
courses, such as those offered by Nanyang Technological University (NTU)'s
engineering school, which is the host for these workshops. |
