Summary: | The demand for the integration of a compact yet effective antenna for Vehicle-to-Everything (V2X) communication technology, is rapidly rising with the world focusing on a more efficient and safe mode of travel for all. This is all part of the Intelligent Transport System (ITS) where the communication system can provide crucial information of the traffic around the vehicle. This will give the vehicle ample time to make sound decisions and also make preventive measures in the case of avoiding a collision. In this project, the integrated antenna will be developed for a specific mode of transportation. The transportation of interest will be the Personal Mobility Device (PMD).
The focus of this final year project is to understand the basics of antenna design parameters, making use of technical knowledge learnt to design a coaxial fed patch antenna. The proposed antenna design is a micro-strip patched array antenna consisting a ground plane and is separated by a substrate layer of FR4 Epoxy. The antenna feed is made up of perfect electric conductor with Teflon (tm) as the coaxial surface of the antenna feeding port. In this final year project, ANSYS HFSS software will be used to simulate and test the proposed antenna so as to facilitate with the designing phase, prior to the fabrication work. |
