Description
Summary:Fuel cells show a strong potential in the field of microgrid applications. Based on the research on the application of the fuel cell and its converter in microgrid, the project proposes a structure of residential DC microgrid with a 48V low voltage bus and its performance requirements. To meet the requirements, a converter is necessary to regulate the fuel cell output voltage and control the fuel cell power flow. In this project, a model of fuel cell and its converter is therefore developed according to the performance requirement. The model has run through numerical simulation on MATLAB Simulink and the result is validated on the Typhoon HIL platform. From the simulation result, the model is proven to be able to operate steadily and satisfies the performance requirements proposed in this project. Lastly, the possible future development of this model and possible future development trends of fuel cells and microgrid are discussed in this report.
