The project involves the design and development of a web-based application that allows students to key attendance by scanning a QR code generated by the professor and professor to view attendance report. The system was implemented using PHP, JavaScript, HTML and MySQL. The report highlights the benefits of using QR code in attendance taking process, including improved accuracy and increased convenience. It also highlights a disadvantage of using a static QR code as it could lead to attendance fraud. As such, this project is initiated with the aim of resolving the issue with the use of dynamic QR code. Overall, the implementation of attendance taking system using QR code technology can enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of attendance taking process in academic settings, contributing to improved student performance and outcome.
