Summary: | Perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have emerged as a promising technology for the efficient and low-cost generation of renewable energy. PSCs are based on a type of crystal structure known as perovskite, a type of solar cell that uses perovskite-structured compounds as the light-harvesting active layer. Due to the low-cost solution-based synthesising techniques, PSCs have become commercially attractive.
In this project, the performance of PSCs is investigated using theoretical simulations through SCAPS-1D software, where comparison between Silicon solar cell and PSCs will be made. The simulations will be based on a range of device architectures and material parameters, including the influence of the HTL, ETL, and Perovskite layer. From there, the results of the project provide valuable insights into the optimisation of perovskite solar cells by showing the highest efficiency using the best PSC. |
