Description
Summary:LED Lighting have been growing in popularity in residential household with its long lifespan and energy saving properties. Such properties can be taken for granted by the owners resulting in more energy being wasted due to human complacency. Hence why, Smart LED lighting system being the solution to the problem by taking the human factor out of the equation. In this project, the report will be focusing on designing a wireless LED lighting system showcasing in one of the Nanyang Technological University hostels located at Pioneer Hall. The system will have the capability of continuous human tracking using a passive infrared sensor(PIR) and a light-sensor used to track the ambient light in the environment in order to determine the behaviour of the LED bulb. The user will be able to control and modify the lighting system through a phone application. The system is made up of commercially available Zigbee products to set up the Zigbee Mesh Network with Raspberry Pi as its hub to connect and program the behaviour utilising Home Assistant OS. The system will be also using the Home Assistant Android Application as means to control from the phone
