Debonding of adhesively bonded composite joints

One of the most common joining techniques used in Design for Assembly to produce cutting-edge technical products with complicated geometries is Adhesive Bonding. In this study, tests were used to investigate the failure characteristics between different types of adhesives. To create a debonding map,...

In this study, tests were used to investigate the failure characteristics between different types of adhesives. To create a debonding map, glass fibre reinforced polymer (GFRP), Aluminium (AL) and Titanium (TI) alloy sheets were joined together using a modified epoxy film adhesive (tailored adhesive). The performance of the floating roller peel was examined at room temperature. This study was done using tailored mixed adhesives of DP100 and DP460 epoxy combined as a single adhesive.
