Description
Summary:Organic electronics is a branch of electronics that deals with conductive polymers, plastics, or small molecules. This technology had merged with the technology of printed electronics. It is defined as printing of electronics on common media such as paper, plastic, and textile using standard printing process. The advantages of this new technology included low cost, and flexibility of electronics circuit. Although organic printed electronics has high potential on reducing manufacturing cost, it is not widely used due to the problems of: (i) Low mobility of electrons and holes in organic materials. (ii) Poor matching between p-type and n-type transistors. (iii) Transistor model for simulation is not available. (iv) Basic analog blocks are unreported. This report described the author’s progress on researching and designing amplifiers circuit by using organic field effect transistor (OFET) in the duration from July 2008 to March 2009. The project also included some studies on printed electronics and further studied the possibility of conducting mass-printing method for organic printed electronics.
