A basic single stage ejector air conditioning system has been designed based on a certain operating conditions. The paramount of the system is the ejector – a device which can employ heat energy as the motive power to compress the refrigerant unlike the contemporary compressor which requires much mechanical power. Waste heat from automobiles and solar energy are applicable in the use ejectors as energy in running the system. Moreover, the system is designed based the refrigerant R718 which has a very low ODP and high boiling point of 100°C at atmospheric pressure. The fluid properties play an important part in determining the operation conditions. This report illustrates the procedures in determining the operating states based on the required operating conditions. By working through the coefficient of performance (COP), the parameters and specifications in the calculations determines the sizing of devices and components of the system which is essential in constructing the hardware.
