Description
Summary:In this study, cold sprayed Inconel 625 coating was applied on to Inconel 625 substrate using high-pressure cold spray system. Dry sliding wear test was performed to investigate the tribological properties of the Inconel 625 coating and substrate at room and elevated temperature. Coefficient of Friction (CoF) and specific wear rate were systematically characterized. The friction coefficients for both substrate and coated Inconel 625 were found to generally decreased when the temperature rise, and the specific wear rate also demonstrated the same trend. The research findings, indicate the cause of this was related to the coverage of glaze layer which was formed at temperature 600 °C and further enhanced at 800 °C especially for coated Inconel 625. Thus, as a results, it is plausible to employ cold spraying of Inconel 625 coating at elevated temperature to improve the wear resistance.
