Description
Summary:The aim of this study was to optimize the fabrication process of filament winding of thermoplastic composite pipes through fine-tuning parameters and explore how different fabrication process parameters can potentially affect its final properties. The fabrication process includes filament winding and consolidation of thermoplastic composite pipes. Parameters include winding speed, angle, laminae, curing temperature, and duration. The quality of thermoplastic composite pipes fabricated was assessed based on their stiffness, stiffness factor, and percentage deflection. The results showed that having the right winding velocity, tension, curing temperature, and curing duration is vital to the mechanical properties of the composite. The results presented in this report will serve as a guideline or benchmark for future research purposes in using the right settings and conditions.
