Summary:Multimedia communication technology through wireless network has been popular nowadays. Peer-to-peer networking is not limited to gaming and texting, but also extended to multimedia communication such as transmission of multimedia data, e.g., image, audio, and video. This project aims to deliver multimedia communication service peer-to-peer, enabling transmission of multimedia data through Wi-Fi technology. The audio and video applications allow recording, playing, saving, sending and receiving of audio and video data between Symbian-based mobile devices. In addition, the chat application allows sending and receiving text continuously between two users. These mobile devices are connected wirelessly through an access point. The coverage area of the network is able to connect up to 50 users and at rates of up to 54 Mbps. Together with other project, in the end an integrated solution is presented. The integrated solution covers image capturing, displaying, saving, sending, and receiving. Overall, this project has been successfully implemented, providing different types of multimedia services into one system which will be very beneficial to individuals.
