Description
Summary:Rapid Prototyping (RP) technologies have been contributing greatly in driving down the product time and cost in design and manufacturing industries. The recent popularity of RP applications has led to a growing demand for more comprehensive educational tools in this field. By integrating both appealing graphical and auditory elements into the text, multimedia provides an interactive platform for better absorption and retention of information, hence significantly enhancing the learning curve to master a subject. The upcoming Third Edition of “Rapid Prototyping: Principles and Applications” by Chua C.K., Leong K.F. and Lim C.S. is accompanied by a multimedia courseware CD, of which the development process has come to its final stage. This project aims to check and further improve upon the courseware, as well as to provide additional documentations before the CD is fully completed. The scope consists of testing and debugging the courseware, assisting in writing papers on the topic, as well as developing presentation slides for the teaching of RP technologies. Software mainly used in this project include Macromedia Director MX 2004, Macromedia Flash MX 2004, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2003 and Microsoft Office Visio 2007. This report sums up the accomplished tasks as well as provides some discussions on the project. Problems and bugs with similar behaviours are classified in the same category, with one or more examples being described in details to aid in demonstration and explanation. Moreover, several figures and tables are also provided for the purpose of visualisation.
