Description
Summary:The project is about simulating the detection of early stage of cancer using the fluorescence lifetime simulations. Monte Carlo simulation is used for cancer detection. By modifying the code of the given simulation, the fluorescence lifetime can be calculated. After the code has been modified, the result was tested. In the project we are using Lihong Wang‘s Standard C Monte Carlo Model Simualtion. And the results were plotted in Excel formats that easily run in any IBM compatible computer. The time factor was add in into the original Standard C code and the results were plotted. The cancer can be detected by comparing between a normal and a suspected cancer tissue. The lifetime different can be seen if between the both samples.. There are a lot of research and studies are conducted on these topics, but there a lot of room for improvement before this method is fully developed and ready to be used in the health care sector. It will take some time before this method is fully mature, with more advanced equipments and methodologies.
