The objective of this project is to explore the possibilities of merging mechanical precision with artistic expression by using linear motion generated by a stepper motor in conjunction with an external force to produce captivating Spirographs. The traditional Spirograph toy has fascinated generations with its ability to create intricate and mesmerizing geometric patterns. The project takes this concept to a new level by introducing controlled linear motion using a stepper motor. The stepper motor, which is a fundamental component of many precision systems, offers the advantage of precise control over the length and speed of the linear motion. This precision is harnessed to lay the foundation for the Spirograph patterns. To achieve the desired Spirograph patterns, we have devised a method that introduces an external force to create circular motion. This ingenious combination of linear and circular motions produces an array of complex and visually stunning Spirograph designs. The external force is carefully calibrated to harmonize with the linear motion, allowing for the creation of custom Spirograph patterns. This project represents the intersection of art and technology, enabling artists, hobbyists, and enthusiasts to explore new artistic possibilities. “Art Buddy v2” offers a user-friendly interface allows for the easy selection of various patterns and customization options, ensuring that both beginners and experienced artists can unleash their creativity. This “Art Buddy v2” project underscores the endless potential of merging art and engineering. It invites individuals to explore the boundaries of artistic expression and mechanical precision while fostering creativity, innovation, and education. Due to the time constraints and limited access to resources, the external force will be applied by human instead. During the testing phase, stepper motors are also replaced by DC motors with encoders due to the lack of speed generated by the stepper motor. However, the objective of “Art Buddy v2” is still achieved towards the end. Bachelor of Engineering (Computer Science) 2023-11-16T08:04:17Z 2023-11-16T08:04:17Z 2023 Final Year Project (FYP) Lek, W.
