Description
Summary:The Internet of Things (IoT) is a powerful concept in the 21st century. It is aimed at making technology efficient and automated. Newer homes today are being transformed to integrate automation. However, smart home adoption rates in general have remained lower than expected, due to its high costs and complex setups. This project aims to tackle some of these challenges head-on by focussing on making IoT easy and affordable for everyone. The result are some DIY devices that are cost and energy efficient, user-friendly, and secure. The devices created involve sensors and actuators which are responsible for capturing data such as feed vital information to the system. Eventually, this data will trigger specific actions in connected actuators to achieve a responsive environment that is also energy efficient. One such device integrates IoT concepts into the realm of kitchens by implementing a smart kitchen. This framework ties in closely with the principles of IoT, where data is exchanged over the internet between interconnected devices to drive seamless interactions. Furthermore, to enhance home security and ease of entrance into one’s home the project involves a self-recognition camera door lock system, which detects and authenticates authorized individuals. The project also extends its scope to monitor energy consumption through an integrated energy meter, providing users with insights into their usage patterns and encouraging responsible energy practices. Additionally, the project integrates IoT concepts into the realm of the kitchen by implementing a smart kitchen system. This system leverages IoT connectivity to enhance safety and optimize energy consumption, resulting in a more efficient and reliable environment for everyone in the household. In conclusion, this comprehensive IoT system encompass of face-recognition cameras, energy meters, and smart kitchen solutions, that not only addresses the challenges plaguing IoT adoption but also offers a holistic approach to modernize and enhance household functionality and convenience.
