Summary:On October 21, 2022, the 21st IEEE International Symposium on Mixed and Augmented Reality (ISMAR 2022) was successfully completed in Singapore. ISMAR is the leading international conference in the fields of augmented reality, mixed reality, and virtual reality. This was the first time that ISMAR was held in Southeast Asia and the first time in hybrid mode. ISMAR 2022 achieved a historically high number of papers and attendees, witnessing the steady growth of the community and the scientific contributions. In this article, we report the key outcomes, impressions, research trends, and lessons learned from the conference.
