However, such aircrafts produce greenhouse gas emissions through the combustion of fuel in the engine which harm the planet. In view of this negative impact that aircrafts have on the planet, there has been a push to use innovative methods to reduce its impact on the planet such as mounting solar panels on aircraft and using efficient power converters. However, the current power converters that are being used in the aerospace industry are made from Si and SiC which has its own set of disadvantages. To overcome these disadvantages faced by Si and SiC power, a new material is being studied to replace the existing power converters in the aerospace industry.
