Summary: | The escalation of plastic pollution has intensified the prevalence of Bisphenol A (BPA), posing a substantial threat to both the environment and human health. This study aims to identify an efficient method for the removal of BPA contaminants. Manganese ferrite was synthesized via co-precipitation, and hydrothermal process was employed to develop a crystalline microporous cobalt Metal-Organic Framework (MOF) structure on the surface of manganese ferrite. Calcination was further incorporated to enhance the current efficiency of the material.
The synthesized manganese ferrite doped with cobalt was characterized using Field Emission
Scanning Electron Microscopy, X-ray Diffraction analysis, and Energy Dispersive X-ray. Additionally, UltraViolet-Spectroscopy was employed, revealing an 18% increase in efficiency, achieving up to 45% degradation of BPA within a 25-minute timeframe. The findings suggest that manganese ferrite doped with cobalt demonstrates remarkable potential as a nanomaterial for the effective degradation of BPA. Its efficiency and recoverability present promising applications in water treatment beyond BPA. |
