This study examines these two important variables by amalgamating survey data from 106 users and stakeholders within Singapore's crowd-shipping ecosystem. The survey finds that only 30% of respondents advocate for stringent rules to secure their personal data out of 106 respondents, highlighting a growing concern regarding data privacy. Meanwhile, 70% of respondents expressed concerns regarding parcel security measures out of 106 respondents, underlining the necessity for comprehensive standards to avoid theft and damage during the delivery process. Drawing upon both survey insights and external sources, this research explores major data protection incidents and security breaches in the crowd-shipping sector in Singapore. Such occurrences have had a palpable impact on trust and confidence among users, underlining the requirement for adequate security. Finally, the report identifies a range of unique issues faced by crowd-shipping platforms, including security protocols and the requirement for enhanced openness. These findings expose a compelling research gap and emphasise the necessity for concentrated efforts to increase the security and data protection safeguards in the crowd-shipping industry. This research offers as a useful resource for policymakers, corporations, and scholars attempting to understand the complexity of this dynamic sector.
