Summary: | The rise of healthcare games has presented promising avenues for enhancing patient engagement, treatment adherence, and health outcomes. However, the prolonged FDA clinical trials process poses significant impediments, curtailing the agile development and iterative improvement of these games. Traditional methods, characterized by extensive timelines and rigid protocols, are proving incompatible with the dynamic and rapidly evolving nature of game development. This paper delves into an explorative study on harnessing blockchain and Web3 technology as a solution to these challenges.
We explored on the intrinsic attributes of blockchain – decentralization and immutability - that are pivotal in streamlining the clinical trials process. The integration of Web3 technology augments user-centricity, ensuring absolute data ownership, which are quintessential in handling sensitive clinical trials data. An important point of our discourse is the incorporation of Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) as an innovative approach to guarantee data ownership and confidentiality. Through an exhaustive exploration, this paper unveils a framework for a decentralized application (dApp) designed to leverage NFTs in reengineering the data sharing processes in healthcare game clinical trials. We illuminate the potential of NFTs to instil efficiency, security, and user empowerment, transforming the healthcare gaming clinical trials landscape. |
