The method involved analyzing current smart home devices and components, identifying optimal sleep environment parameters, and developing a prototype hosted on the Arduino Cloud platform. The prototype smart home system is developed, including key functionalities such as sensor monitoring, adaptive fan response, lighting schedule configuration, and voice control integration. Users can access these functionalities through web and mobile dashboards designed. Assumptions and constraints of the projects were also discussed, followed by a breakdown of the project into planning, researching, development and implementation, and reporting and presentation phases. The discussions section addressed challenges encountered during implementation, such as a lack of prior knowledge in hardware and microcontrollers and dependence on internet connectivity. Recommendations for future work included enhancing automation with sophisticated algorithms, incorporating additional sensors for comprehensive monitoring, and integrating devices like air purifiers and dehumidifiers. These improvements aimed to provide users with a more personalized and conducive sleep environment, ultimately promoting better sleep quality and overall well-being. description |
The project aimed to develop an affordable smart home system utilizing microcontrollers to
enhance sleep quality by dynamically adjusting environmental factors such as lighting,
temperature, and air quality. The method involved analyzing current smart home devices and
components, identifying optimal sleep environment parameters, and developing a prototype
hosted on the Arduino Cloud platform.
The prototype smart home system is developed, including key functionalities such as sensor
monitoring, adaptive fan response, lighting schedule configuration, and voice control integration.
Users can access these functionalities through web and mobile dashboards designed.
Assumptions and constraints of the projects were also discussed, followed by a breakdown of the
project into planning, researching, development and implementation, and reporting and
presentation phases.
The discussions section addressed challenges encountered during implementation, such as a lack
of prior knowledge in hardware and microcontrollers and dependence on internet connectivity.
Recommendations for future work included enhancing automation with sophisticated algorithms,
incorporating additional sensors for comprehensive monitoring, and integrating devices like air
purifiers and dehumidifiers. These improvements aimed to provide users with a more
personalized and conducive sleep environment, ultimately promoting better sleep quality and
overall well-being. |
