Description
Summary:Dementia, a progressive cognitive impairment affecting memory, thinking, and behaviour, poses significant challenges for both patients and caregivers. Addressing these challenges necessitates innovative solutions that streamline caregiving processes and enhance patient well-being. This report presents the Person-Centered Care (PEAR) project, a software system designed to revolutionise dementia care by providing a common platform for various stakeholders involved in patient treatment and support. The PEAR software system offers a comprehensive approach to alleviate the burden on caregivers and improve the overall standard of care. Through its implementation, the project aims to distribute workload efficiently among stakeholders primarily of doctors and caregivers, thereby enhancing the quality of care for patients and the quality of life for the stakeholders. Key achievements of the project include the seamless migration to the NTU server and heightening of security of the PEAR software system via initial implementations of Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) and regular backups of the database. This project thus looks into maintaining system integrity and providing essential disaster recovery capabilities, ensuring a more robust software system for the developers to work on.
