Description
Summary:The medical field has seen the increase of research on using blockchain technology to solve the problems of securing patient’s medical records, administration of drug purchases, supply chain management and much more. There have been many papers released on the type of blockchain that should be used and how it should be implemented. These papers also discuss the benefits and drawbacks of using blockchain in this field. This project aims to create a DApp that can solve the problem of securing a user’s genomic data. The goal is to give control of the data to the owner and have them decide who gets to see the data and who doesn’t. The system will contain a front-end for the user to interact with and a backend that can be deployed on Ethereum. Evaluation of the performance will be conducted using the gas fees of the transactions by the users as compared to the possible profits they could earn by charging researchers to view their data. Other metrics will include latency and throughput.
