Summary:Many countries had pledge to reduce the carbon footprint as part of their effort to combat climate change. The initiative has led to an increase focus in adopting a more sustainable transportation alternatives such as electric vehicles (EV). This caused an increased trend in the adoption of electric vehicles globally, including Singapore. As a small nation with limited resources, the use of fossil fuel is not sustainable in Singapore, hence an alternative solution will be electric vehicle. This report explores the challenges and opportunities for the adoption of electric vehicles in Singapore. The focus of this report will be factors such as cost, infrastructure, charging time as well as the technologies implemented. Through comprehensive survey and research, we will be able to understand the current perceptions of individuals on electric vehicle, to know what factors encourage or hinder them from adopting and electric vehicle. In addition, we can dive further into the perception and explore if the current measurements are sufficient for the widespread of adoption of electric vehicle and understand if the consumers are receptive towards the measures implemented.
