This work explores the photoactive layer of OPV cells, with particular attention to the binary mixture of Y6 as a non-fullerene acceptor (NFA) and PM6 as a donor. We investigate how different PM6:Y6 ratios affect thin film morphology and photovoltaic characteristics. We explore the optical properties and surface morphology of the films by a series of studies using techniques including UV-Vis characterisation, Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), and Grazing Incidence Small & Wide Angle X-ray Scattering (GISAXS & GIWAXS). The results seek to maximize the donor-acceptor ratio to enhance structural characteristics and maybe increase the performance of OPV cells. These results contribute to the ongoing evolution of solar cell technology, signifying a step forward in achieving more efficient and stable renewable energy sources. Organic photovoltaic (OPV) materials provide a promising path in the search for sustainable
energy solutions because of their potential for high efficiency and flexible application. This
work explores the photoactive layer of OPV cells, with particular attention to the binary

different PM6:Y6 ratios affect thin film morphology and photovoltaic characteristics. We
explore the optical properties and surface morphology of the films by a series of studies using
